About:

North By Northeast (NxNE) is the Canadian branch of the South By Southwest (SxSW) festival. Located in Toronto, NxNE is an annual festival that hosts local, Canadian and international artists over the span of four days.

While headliner and larger acts in general are paid for their performances, all other independent artists are not. Cover is charged at NxNE events, with the money collected going to NxNE, ostensibly to cover the costs of running the festival. All performing artists are provided with wristbands to attend various other performances and seminars.

NxNE also offers various music industry workshops and seminars for upcoming artists and music industry professionals.
