Indie Week is an annual music festival held in Toronto, Ontario that focuses on independent and emerging artists. The festival is typically held in mid-November and runs for 4-5 days. After being accepted, bands will usually have one or two performances at different venues throughout the festival. According to the organizers, one of those shows will be viewed and graded by one or more judge, winners advance to semi-final and final rounds with chances to win recording time and a performance at Indie Week Europe, held in Ireland. Indie Week does not guarantee that a judge will be present at either performance, prompting some criticism of favoritism/nepotism among the festival and judges.
The application fee is between $30-35 depending on the proximity of the deadline.
